CHOC Children's Basket of Hope Delivery with NFL Players Association

CHOC is partnering with Basket of Hope, NFL Players Association Orange County Vice President, Dave Des Rochers, and other local community organizations to give the gift of HOPE to families with children coping with serious illnesses through the personal delivery of a Basket of Hope. 

For the 2022 Super Baskets of Hope project, we are kicking off the event with a delivery the week before the Super Bowl! Due to COVID, we are scaling down the event for this month's delivery, and planning to have a Super Baskets of Hope assembly event & delivery in July to support over 400 patients and their families in and around Los Angeles, CA!

You can help by sponsoring a Basket of Hope for $100! Any amount will help us reach our goal of $100,000 to bring hope to families in the Orange County area and beyond!

What is Basket of Hope?

Basket of Hope started in 1995 in St. Louis, MO after Christina, age 6 completed cancer treatment. Her Mom, Angela Brunette, was asked by hospital staff to visit with and encourage patients and their families who were newly diagnosed.  Angela then began gathering items that were helpful to her during their time in the hospital and started what is now Basket of Hope, a 501c3 non-profit organization.  

The organization is now serving over 50 hospitals nationwide thanks to Tony Dungy, NFL Hall of Fame Recipient, and Riley Hospital for Children. During Super Bowl week in Indianapolis, over 1,000 volunteers assembled 7,000 Super Baskets of Hope along with 7,000 Hope Totes; shipped them to 32 NFL cities; and local NFL players delivered the gifts to hospitalized children and their parents. Why?

Familiar and inspirational items provided in an unfamiliar place bring some sense of control, normalcy and enjoyment for patients and families coping with serious illnesses.  

Hand delivered by local volunteers or celebrities, each Basket of Hope and Hope Tote brings heartfelt comfort to patients and their families. 

Basket of Hope includes: Age-appropriate games, toys, books, craft items, educational material and more

Basket of Hope Tote includes: Bible, journal, hope necklace, adult coloring book, coffee cup, devotionals, and a custom artwork gift coupon.

• Event Sponsor - $30,000

Bring up to 30 volunteers to the basket packing event, meet-and-greet NFL players, pictures and autographs, prominent logo display at packing event, mentioned in social media & press release. Bring up to 4 guests to attend Basket of Hope delivery at the hospital & have logo displayed on rolling cart banner.

• Gold Sponsor - $15,000

Bring up to 15 volunteers to the basket packing event, meet-and-greet NFL players, pictures and autographs, logo display at packing event and on carts for hospital deliveries. Bring up to 2 guests to attend Basket of Hope delivery at the hospital.

• Silver Sponsor - $5,000

Bring up to 5 volunteers to basket packing event, meet-and-greet NFL players, pictures and autographs.
