Basket of Hope National President
Mike Furrey is a wide receiver with the NFL. He and his wife Koren live in Columbus, Ohio and
have been delivering baskets there at Nationwide Children's Hospital for over a year now. They bring a lot of great ideas, energy, enthusiasm,
and passion to Basket of Hope.
Our personal and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ is what gets us through our days. When we became involved with Basket of Hope we
realized the importance and the power of prayer. Prayer is a communication process that allows you to talk to God. When your child or a child
you love is sick, going to God and praying is a powerful medicine. Basket of Hope has allowed us to facilitate and encourage the families we
have met in the hospital to pray. Finding hope and strength from God allows you to rise above the storm. “Give all your worries and cares to God,
for he cares about you” (1 Peter 5:7).
